School Council

What is a School Council?

A school council is a group of pupils, elected by their peers, who act as representatives for their classmates. A school council will discuss, and give their views, on a range of issues and is a good way for staff to pay attention to pupil voice.  A school council also gives pupils a good understanding of elections and democracy; promoting British Values in school.

School Council Projects

Calm Zone Garden

The children helped design and develop the Calm Zone garden; a place where children can engage in sensory activities or just a space to relax.

Toilets

The children have worked with the school Site Manager to look at ways to improve the toilets in school. Locks have been replaced, taps have been fixed and walls have been painted!
