I really enjoyed our 1:1 ‘zooms’ this week – it was great to catch-up with the children, discuss their work and have a general chat. If your child wanted a 1:1 meeting, but you were unable to book one this week, please get in touch and we can arrange one for sometime in the next few weeks, before half-term. You can contact me either through the school texting system, or email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I have scheduled the following whole-class Zoom sessions for next week (week beginning Monday 1st Feb.) I hope that as many pupils as possible will be able to join for each one:
Our trial of Seesaw is now well underway. The teachers and pupils in Housman and Caradoc class are enjoying using it, as are the children in Darwin, who have started to explore its functionality, so it looks like it could be here to stay! I will resend passwords and log-in details, via text, over the next few days to ensure that all of the children in Darwin have access.
I will continue to set the daily lesson timetable and post lesson details on our homework page on the school website, as I do currently. I will let you know on there if the accompanying tasks have been set on Seesaw. We will continue to use Edmodo, as it has a lot to offer which Seesaw doesn’t (for example, free online file storage for pupils and free Office Microsoft Online) but I will not set work on there unless pupils request it. Edmodo will continue to function as our virtual class space where pupils can communicate and share information in a safe online environment, should they wish to do so. I will continue to be an active Edmodo user and will interact with pupils – and parents – on there as I have always done.
I hope that you all have a restful weekend and you get the chance to do something you enjoy – I am hoping to read a book!
