Healthy Eating & Allergies in School

Our school has undergone ‘Healthy School’ accreditation. However we have noticed that some children are increasingly bringing in chocolate and crisps for break times. All pupils in Nursery, Hawkstone & Caradoc classes are provided with a variety of free fruit on a daily basis and should therefore not need to bring in any snacks to eat at break time. KS2 pupils should only be bringing in fruit, veg, raisins etc. if they require a snack at break time. Only water should be brought into school in drinks bottles, not juice or squash.

Due to increased awareness with regards to severe allergic reactions, pupils should not be bringing nuts into school at all.

Year 1 Forest School Sessions

Due to the various Christmas preparations that are now underway in school, plus the not so great weather, there will be no more Forest School sessions for year 1 pupils on a Wednesday afternoon for the rest of this term. So please feel free to take home their kits and give them a well deserved wash over the Christmas break!!!

Quick Sticks Hockey Competition

Here, with their certificates, are our Year 5 & 6 pupils who represented the school in a recent Quick Sticks Hockey Competition at Maurice Chandler Sports Centre. We have recently used some of our Sports Funding to purchase new hockey equipment so the children can continue to play and build on their new skills.

Harvest Celebrations

We started the last day of this half term continuing our Harvest celebrations. Rev. Becky Richards and lots of parents & friends joined us for our assembly where we celebrated harvest with readings and songs. The children had also been very busy creating their Autumn/Harvest art work. We hope parents agree that they all made an excellent effort and certificates were awarded for some of the exceptional pieces, with everyone who entered getting a small prize. Thank you to our Governors Mrs Lynda Plews and Mrs Angela Winrow for taking on the difficult task of choosing the winners! We also had loads of donations for the Market Drayton Foodbank, well over 100 items, which  Miss Williams is kindly dropping off for us.

We hope you all have a lovely autumn break. The children return to school on Monday 5th November.
