This week Hawkstone class have been singing lots of Christmas songs in preparation for our church service and campfire performances. They also worked extremely hard to write the story of the nativity. Next week we will continue with the theme of Christmas as we will be making cards, writing lists and making invitations for our class Christmas party on Friday (16.12.22). In maths the children will be recapping the composition of numbers up to 5. The children will also be making decorations and singing lots of songs. Reminder that our class Christmas dinner will be on Monday.

This week the children have had a busy week making rain makers, fruit salads and writing a story. Next week we will begin to look at the story of Christmas and all the things that people do to celebrate Christmas. In maths we will be focusing on time and naming the days of the week as well as sequencing our daily routines. We will also be further exploring our toys topic and looking at toys from the past and the children will make a cup and ball toy. Thank you for all your hard work this week Hawkstone class!

Well done Hawkstone class for another great week! The children worked hard and wrote some fantastic character descriptions of the Gruffalo this week. Next week we will continue to read the Gruffalo and we will write the story. In maths we will be looking at patterns. The children will be exploring different patterns in nature and around the world as well as copying repeated patterns and creating their own patterns. This week the children have worked really hard writing stories based on Traction Man. Next week we begin our new book The Gruffalo. The children will be focusing on rhyming words and describing characters. In maths we are continuing to learn about finding one more and one less using a variety of resources. We will also be creating a recipe for a fruit salad which we will be making in the following week. Well done for another great week Hawkstone class!

Hello and welcome back Hawkstone class! This half term our topic is toys. The children will be exploring the history of toys and making their own toy from the past. We will also be looking at lots of different stories with a focus on our toys topic. This week the children have enjoyed bringing in their own toys and writing about them. The children also became one of the characters from a story and completed an obstacle course challenge. Well done Hawkstone Class!
