The pupils have been looking at good hygiene practices, why we should use soap to wash our hands and bodies! They put oil on their hands, then compared the effects of cold water, cold water and soap, warm water and warm water and soap in getting their hands nice and clean!

They learn that the temperature of the water is less important, but found that using soap made a huge difference in the cleanliness of their hands afterwards. How interesting!

We are exploring pirates this term. We have learnt about historical pirates, explored the oceans and seas where they might be found and found out about pirate ships!

In D&T, the children made pirate ships and we tested them in water. The children were able to come up with success criteria and we voted as to whether we thought they would be successful! A great design and experiment!

Caradoc have been developing great team working skills, paired talk and listening in PE the last couple of weeks. A great job!

This term our focus topic is PIRATES: LAND AHOY!

We have been exploring pirate ships in art and drawing masts, sails and a crow’s nest.

In English, we have been learning how to write sentences with boats as our subject.

In geography, we have been researching the oceans and putting them on the map so we can label where pirates might be roaming in the ships.

Caradoc enjoyed their first PE lesson back this week and worked hard on their introduction to games skills. Across the year they will advance their skills and tactics in basic games to support their development of competetive game play.

They worked as a team and following instructions well.

Caradoc, along with the rest of the school enjoyed their fathers day breakfast this morning! What an excellent turn out for everyone.
