Summer 2, Week 1: Spellings

Welcome back to the last half term of the year!

This term’s spellings will focus on the last few spelling rules of the year but I would encourage you to be choosing a few common exception words from below to work on these throughout the term at home independently.

COMMON EXCEPTION WORDS: a list of appropriate spelling words for each year group which are often the exception to the common spelling rules are have an unusual spelling. It is important children learn these spellings as well as common spelling rules.

Spelling Update: WB 17th May

This week the children will be completing activities to improve their spelling of Common Exception Words for their year group. This is a specific set of spellings we teach the children in each year group.

Below you will find a copy of these words should you wish to do additional practice at home this week. New spellings for next week will be uploaded on Friday 21st but will be tested on Thursday 27th.
