The highlight of our week this week was mapping the products we listed as our homework task. The children enjoyed working together to identify the countries which exported their products and to draw conclusions about exports on a global level.
We also had a new trolley for our visualiser. Here is one of our pupils in full flow, modelling how to complete column multiplication for the whole class:
As it is the final week of the half-term, our certificates this week are the Star Pupil awards. As ever, we had to think really hard about this and our final decisions were:
Year 5 Star Pupil: Charlie has impressed all the adults that he has worked with this half-term. He has completed all of his homework every week, learned his spellings, worked hard in every lesson and he is always polite and helpful. Also, Charlie’s speech, about his pets, was fantastic – we were all riveted! Well done, Charlie!
Year 6 Star Pupil: Evie has been awarded the Star Pupil certificate for her excellent attitude to her work. Evie is always keen to give even the most challenging task a go. Her work is always completed to a good standard and she always makes interesting and thoughtful contributions to group and class discussions. Great work, Evie!
Pupils must read regularly to an adult over the half-term break and fill in their reading journal – I will be collecting these on the Monday when we return. We will also have our spelling test on the first Monday back, so pupils need to spend some time ensuring that they can spell these words with accuracy (see our spelling page).
Have a great half-term break!
