We’ve had ANOTHER busy week in Darwin class! On Monday, we had a visit from representatives from the Army, who led our Armistice day assembly and our two-minute silence. On Tuesday, we had visitors from the church who led an informative workshop about the history of the church. This is part of a larger project involving writing lyrics for a song, which Darwin class worked on with Mrs. Brotherhood on Thursday morning.
Our new lunch time code club started on Monday and it went very well indeed. Our experienced code clubbers did an excellent job of supporting the attendees to code animated letters using Scratch. They organised everyone into groups and made sure that no one was left struggling. They have even identified some confident coders who are to be taken under the wing of Ava – she may even teach them how to code with Python. Jorgie says she may boot-up the Raspberry Pi next week too! I was impressed with Ella’s organisational skills, which resulted in the club running like a well-oiled machine.
This week, in maths, we have continued to look at fractions. Our homework is to continue to think about ‘equivalence.’ Copies of the task, along with support and challenge resources, can be found in the homework section below. There is also a short reading activity to complete.
