Welcome

Welcome to our School Website. Located in rural North Shropshire, Stoke on Tern is a 5 class village school with its own nursery. We have a strong caring ethos, where every child is valued as an individual.

At Stoke on Tern we welcome children from a wide range of backgrounds with varying needs and abilities. Some are with us throughout their primary years and for some, particularly those from military families; it can be a much shorter period of time. However long children spend with us, once they join Stoke on Tern they are quickly welcomed into the school community, encouraged to feel they belong and supported in their learning so that every child can….. ‘Be the best that they can be’.

No-one should underestimate the importance of a child’s time at primary school – we firmly believe that a good start in the primary years sets children on the path to a successful future and it is our aim at Stoke on Tern to enable all our pupils to achieve this.

Right from their earliest days in Nursery and Reception children are learning, not only about the subjects on the school curriculum, but about themselves as people; how to relate to each other and how to achieve their goals. At Stoke on Tern we all recognise the importance of our work with children and the huge responsibilities we carry. We share a strong commitment to promoting the children’s physical and emotional wellbeing alongside their educational achievements as we know these are so crucial in children’s lives.

Having worked with children for many years now, we count it a great privilege to play a small part in shaping children’s futures. Children have such innate enthusiasm and curiosity about the world, they want to learn and be successful. However, experience tells us that most will encounter some challenges along the way. It is our role as educators, working with parents and carers, to encourage, support and guide children to help them achieve their best.

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope that you find the information you need. Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have or to make an appointment to visit us – you would be most welcome!
